HG Wing Zero

Hi, Accel here again. XD  Finally, I am able to do a new review during summer break.
The kit that I am going to review is the Wing Zero from the all Gundam Project line. I went and finished the Wing TV series when this kit was announced so that I can compare how well the kit was brought to life in model kit form. I have to say that I am not dissapointed just from the look of this kit.

The kit has amazing color separation, almost all the colors you see here are done in plastic except the lens of the shield and the vents on the chest which is impressive considering that this is just a HG kit.

I do have a bit of problem with the hinges Bandai used for the wing binder because let's be honest here the hinges are hideous and they are sometimes pain in the arse to work with. The hinges tend to pop up when the wings are opened resulting them to be unable to fold back up again without a little push on the hinge.

Articulation on this kit is mediocre at best, sure the arms can do a 180 but the lower body is just bad. The leg can bend 120degree but the ankle...........oh the ankle..........even the HG Unicorn has better ankle articulation than this kit which is saying quite a lot about how bad the ankle of the Wing Zero is.   ╮(╯_╰)╭

Still, the kit is able to pull off a char kick.    d(`・∀・)b

It wouldn't be the Wing Zero we all know and love without the twin buster rifle. ( σ՞ਊ ՞)σ

The kit is able to pull off this iconic pose albeit without the shield that will get in the way of everything.

They see me rolling, they hating..........( ~'ω')~

You know you are screwed when you see this view from your cockpit. XDDD The kit can hold the combined buster rifle just fine with one hand.

No weight issue whatsoever even with the hand that the shield is attached.

Final shot from the TV series. The kit can pull off this pose quite well but because the thrusters of the wing are joined by ball joint it limits the range the thruster can swing up to give it a reverse thrust as Wing Zero cleaves through the upper atmosphere trying to get a good aim on the debris.

I...........I AM...........I AM GOING TO SURVIVE!!!!!!!!

It should be noted that the kit can't actually hold the buster rifle with 2 hands but it still looks awesome nonetheless. d(`・∀・)b

Another problem I have with this kit is that the ball joint is too easy to disconnect from the body.

The kit also came with 2 beam saber effect parts...........but Bandai only gave the kit one saber hilt so.................no dual weilding for you Wing Zero.

The shield can extend just like in the anime..........not sure how that's going to help winning a fight but the kit can pull it off.

The head of my bird is burning red........Telling me to penetrate you and achieve total victory.

The saber effect part comes with a nice green color and the kit looks good weilding it.

Now, the transformation to the Neo Bird mode is nice but I am not a fan of its design right from the begining so I don't really give a damn about this mode.

I know it's from the 90's but really? Someone really looked at this design and thought to himself.....yup.....job done.......NEXT!!!!!

Neo bird mode with buster rifles equipped.

The feet transformation is achieved through parts-forming, a little bit annoying but considering that this is HG I can let it slide.

The proportion of this kit is really good if you are a fan of the bulky design from the original TV series. If you prefer a more sleek look MG Ver Ka Proto Wing Zero might be a better choice for you.

HG Wing Zero is a good kit even if you are not a fan of the Wing series. It has good color separation and the proportion is spot on with its anime counterpart. The minor gripe I have with the kit is the lack of lower body articulation but that's to be expected from a transformable MS. Overall, I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the original design of Wing Zero. It'll be a nice MS standing in your shelf. That's all from me and I hope to see you again in the next review.   ヘ( ´∀`)ノ
